Figurines: Lilic’s Nakoruru
September 23, 2009
I recently picked up this beautiful Nakoruru statue from a recent shopping trip to Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. Manufactured by Lilic’s Artstorm, the 1/6 scale, PVC statue stands close to 8 inches tall. It’s been out since December of 2007, but I never got the chance to pick this one up until I actually saw it in person at the Anime Jungle I visited. I believe the design is based off of Aoi Nanase’s character design of Nakoruru. What I love most about this statue is the pose and the flow of the cape.
The first photo here was taken by my friend Jake, who joined my husband and I for our shopping spree.
To see more pics I took myself, follow the jump!

The pose certainly bring much life and character into Nakoruru.

I also love how her hair is flowing over the the cape. Noticed how on the top of Nakoruru’s head has a more blueish color than the rest of her hair.

The detail on her face is extremely cute. Notice the pink anime styled blush and the little dabs of eyelashes. I think her tiny, cute pink mouth is adorable. Also, personal preference of mine is having the cape over the hand. Originally the cape was behind her hand, which made it seemed like it was floating in mid air (look at the very first photo). I decided to glue the cape over her hand so that it looks like she’s actually gripping it.

Another nod to detail: you can see the drawstring to her pants peeking out from under her gi! I love the folds around her midriff as well.

She even has fingernails! And though her sheath is mostly hidden by the cape, they still gave it some details, such as the tassels. Also I just noticed I didn’t put her weapon all the way into her hand not to mention backwards, but oh well.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. This is in my opinion the best Nakoruru figurine out there. Lilic’s did a fine job bringing Nakoruru into our world through this figure. I picked mine up for about $70, which isn’t too bad considering I didn’t have to pay for any additional shipping. It’s not too difficult to find either, doing a google search will give you plenty of online shops to find her at.

I feel bad that I’ve never bought that figure when I saw it during my trip in Hong Kong last Christmas 2007, but finally I got one from online shop with the help of a frind of mine last january this year^^ My only complaints is that the figure are not well balanced due to the weight of her left side.

I love this figure! I actually had the same problem you did with the whole balancing issue. As I mentioned in my post, I decided to just super glue her hand into her cape. By doing so, she no longer keeps wanting to lean to her left!

Yeah I did the same thing with the problem issue of her hands. Still she looks like leaning at the left side because her right leg which is connected to the lower cape are bended a bit, well the material used for the figure is made of soft PVC after all.
